Jiří Stejskal finished Bachelor’s degree on Thomas Bata University in Zlín, Czech Republic in 2008 as audiovisual specialist. He continued his studies on Baltic Film and Media school in Tallinn, where he achieved Master’s degree in Film directing in 2010. He returned to Zlín to finish Master’s degree in editing and sound in 2011.
Stejskal’s films have achieved several successes on festivals. His film Pit-Hole (2010) was one of the most awarded Czech documentaries abroad in 2011. He has edited documentaries for Czech Television and a feature film called Smichov place, Brooklyn spi (dir. Dodo Gombár, 2011). The documentary film My Home (2014) directed by Stejskal is now screened at the DocPoint festival.
