Director Lou McLoughlan has worked both as director and cinematographer in her career. The film 16 Years till Summer is the result of four years’ work and her debut feature film. The film is built on McLoughlan’s thesis short film called Caring for Calum (2011). It has won the Grierson Award and two BAFTAs. 16 Years till Summer is a story of Uisdean who returns home to Scotland after 16 years in prison and tries to find his way back into society again.
