Melisa Üneri was born and raised in Oulu, Finland. She lives currently in Istanbul. She studied in England, receiving her MA degree in Dramaturgy and Feature Film Development from Exeter University, where she graduated as first of her class. Üneri’s first feature length creative documentary Daddy’s Girl (Isän tyttö, 2015), which is screened at the DocPoint festival, premiered in DOK Leipzig in 2015 and is currently traveling in other prominent festivals. In the same year, she directed her first short film and is currently developing a fiction film dealing with sexual double-standards in her usual light tone.
