Reetta Huhtanen is filmmaker based in Helsinki. She is finishing her Master degree at the ELO Film School in Aalto University majoring in documentary directing. Beside her film studies she has graduated as BA in Sociology and Philosophy at Helsinki University.
As a documentarist she is described to have “an ability to see the absurd in recent phenomenon through her twisted vision. In social topics she collides serious with playful”. Her film The Coffee Break, about three eternal students, has been widely exhibited at international film festivals and won awards. Economic Forecasters (Talousennustajat), which is screened at the DocPoint festival, is her most recent film and had its world premiere at Visions du Réel in 2015.
