Suvi West (b. 1982) graduated from the Media Study program of the Sámi Education Insitute in 2005. Since that she has worked as a freelance director, script writer and editor. Among other she has directed four 30′ documentaries that travelled in many international festivals and were broadcasted around Scandinavia. She is also one of the creators for the 8-part tv series Märät Säpikkäät (2012–), which introduced young Sámi people in humorous way and nominated as the best tv-series 2012. West’s documentary film Little sister (2015) is screened at the DocPoint festival.
