Swing Game

Three filmmakers from the town of Kotka – Mikko, Pasi and Samuli – set out to make a documentary about Finnish game companies, but wound up developing a game of their own. With zero prior experience.

Lack of experience never hurt anyone when big things are in the horizon. Just jumping on the Angry Birds bandwagon is bound to make anyone rich, right? But the end result, the actual game – what should that be about? Ideas fly around; it could be anything from booze cruising to water fights.

The three manage to get backing for their idea, and also the best mentor imaginable. They are downright adorable while trying to figure out how real start-up entrepreneurs dress for pitching events and while explaining their swing-jumping concept to international angel investors.

Little by little, the three greenhorn friends find out just how wavering the game industry can be. Their friendship is also put to test when they start to envision different things. Hardships aside, they manage to keep their childlike spirits high, and finally the moment of anxiety and anticipation is at hand: will anyone download the game?
