Virpi Suutari is a Finnish documentary film director, who was the Artistic Director of DocPoint in 2008. She studied in the School of Arts and Design in Helsinki and she has been named as artistic professor for the five year term in 2012−2016. In 2012 she founded a production company called Euphoria Film Oy with her husband Martti Suosalo, who is a Finnish actor.
Suutari’s films have received many awards and nominations in Finland. For example her documentary film Eedenistä pohjoiseen (2014) was rewarded with Best Documentary Jussi-award. The Jussi Awards is Finland’s premier film industry event. Suutari’s short documentary Elegance (Eleganssi, 2015) is screened at the DocPoint festival.
